The pattern is called "Cornish" and the form is a vase. The vase measures 8 3/8" tall and is approximately 4 1/8" in diameter at the widest point at the bottom of the vase. The rim measures approximately 2 3/8" in diameter wide outside measurement and 2" inside measurement. The vase depicts a 2 toned colored background glaze that consists of a matte yellow bleeding into a tan colored glaze.
Weller considered this their Two-Toned glaze in this line. There are embossed leaves with a stem that has berries hanging from it. The leaves overlay three rings that surround the vase and there are mock scroll handles applied on each side.
The back of the vase is plain except for the 2 tone glaze. The leaves have an pale green with light brown hue to them. The berries are glazed in a dark blue. The vase is considered to be in excellent condition as there are no cracks, chips, nicks or dings. There is crazing in he yellow glaze especially when looking inside the vase. This is very common with this form and glaze color for some reason. The vase is snot signed but this is a well documented pattern and form by Weller Pottery. There is the letter "B" in blue on the underside bottom and was more than likely the artist or the finisher's mark. This vase will work well in any arts and crafts or mission style setting as well as any country decor. This is a hard form to find in this glaze combination. You typically see the brown and blue glaze ones but rarely the two-toned. This vase was made circa 1933. CLEMENTS ANTIQUES OF NEW HAMPSHIRE STOREFRONT.Please wait for my Invoice before paying.
