Weller Pottery 18 Fru Russett matte ware snake & bird vase Arts & Crafts
Here is an exceptional Weller Pottery Fru-Russett or Matte-ware line vase with a snake and a bird among vines, leaves, and berries. Made in Zanesville Ohio in the 1920's. Probably the largest form done in these curdled matte glazes, it measures 18 1/8 inches tall and about 7 inches in diameter. It has excellent professional restoration the the body and bird but amazingly the snake which extends above the rim is intact.
