Circa early 1900's, this large and impressive Weller Faience vase stands 13" tall and is approximately 8" in diameter. This beautifully decorated vase was designed by Frederick H. Rhead while he worked at Weller Pottery. Finished in a high gloss black background, the Arts and Crafts incised decoration is done in colors of blue, green and yellow. Marked on the base "Weller Faience" with an impressed "F48" and an "X".
There has been a professional restoration to the top rim and a few very small glaze flecks at the base edge. None of which detracts from the beauty of the vase. A fabulous early Weller-Rhead Arts and Crafts vase to add to your pottery collection. If you have any questions, please contact Barbara Gerr Antiques.
Any lines, white spots, reflections, or shadows are from my lights and are not in the glaze. We hope that you enjoy viewing our selection of pottery in the store. Check back often as we are always adding new items.
