Here is a nice Walrath Pottery wheel thrown mug decorated with branching fruit and leaves in a band in 3 colors. Walrath was a potter who was trained at the New York State School of Ceramics, under Charles Binns, the same school as Arthur Baggs of Marblehead. He worked at the Grueby Faience Company in Boston, and taught at the Mechanics Institute from 1908 until 1918. This mug measures 3 1/2 inches tall and 5 1/4 inches wide across the handle.

Incised on the bottom Walrath Pottery around the con-joined MI for Mechanics Institute. It has restoration to a chip inside the rim on one side and is otherwise in excellent condition with no cracks or firing flaws. A good piece of Upstate NY Arts & Crafts Art Pottery.
