Vintage Robert Maxwell / Pottery Craft decanter with an abstract face cup/lid on top. I have pictured both decanters together in the last photo so you can see how they look as a set, but this listing is for the male decanter only. The lid of the carafe has an abstract face on it and is also a cup you could drink from. Overall height to the top of the head is 13. Impressed mark "Pottery Craft USA" on the back near the bottom. Robert Maxwell is probably best-known for the imaginative stoneware animal sculptures he produced in the 1960s in Venice, California. One of his scarcer whimsical items.

It was created in the manner of David Cressey, and incorporates Robert Maxwell's overlapping geometric glaze shapes made famous by Pottery Craft. A great addition to your mid century pottery collection.
