Vintage Ephraim Faience Pottery FIRST BAT VASE Matte Green Arts & Crafts
Matte Green Arts & Crafts. A vintage art pottery design by Kevin Hicks; founder of the Ephraim Faience Pottery.
The large hand built vase features a bat clinging to its side and was inspired by a visit to the arts & crafts Gamble House in Pasadena California. The pot is covered in a rich Grueby-like matte green cucumber glaze that gives a life-like appearance to the subject. Size: 10" high x 6" wide. Impressed Ephraim Faience Pottery circular mark on base. This first BAT VASE design was retired from production in 2003 and is seldom seen in todays marketplace. The vase is in excellent original condition as shown with no chips, hairlines, crazing or repairs noted. Offered for sale without reserve.
