Van Briggle Pottery 1920's Arts & Crafts Mulberry red poppy pod vase shape 21

  
Here is a very nice Van Briggle Pottery vase in their signature Mulberry red or Persian Rose glaze. It has an Art Nouveau design of poppy seed pods swirling around the vase, completely integrated with the squat form. This is shape number 21 which was designed in 1901 by Artus Van Briggle. It is in great condition with no chips, cracks, repairs, or firing flaws, just some water deposits on the inside, and some visible crazing. It measures 3 5/8 inches tall and 3 7/8 inches in diameter at the widest.

It is marked with the firm's double AA box mark and all caps Van Briggle, a 1920's designation. A wonderful Arts & Crafts design.
