An absolutely stunning early 20th century, jar-form, medium-sized, antique original TECO vase in their signature matte green glaze with highly desirable charcoaling and an unusual and rare glaze treatment around the raised mouth of the vase. Double-inscribed TECO mark on bottom. Maker/Marks : TECO/double inscribed TECO mark. Vintage: ORIGINAL ANTIQUE, early 20th century. Just a tad under 5 tall.
4.5 wide at the widest point. Base is a bit less than 2.5 in diameter. Our photos are the most important part of our description because we are not experts in anything -- please zoom in on them and study the details closely and ask questions. Our photos show the vase from every angle -- see full-on side photos taken every one quarter turn in particular.
One tiny fleabite measuring 1/16 at base, visible ONLY when vase is turned upside down. See last photo close-up of base with fleabite lined up exactly along the 2 mark of the ruler -- fleabite can barely be seen. No other condition issues -- no cracks, chips, or crazing. Lots of desirable charcoaling throughout, and an unusual and rare subtle glaze effect around the raised mouth of the vase that cannot be felt, only seen. Glazing of bottom is a bit sloppy, but this cannot be seen when vase is on display, and vase stands well with absolutely no wobble. Non-smoking environment, and we'll let you know if any of our vintage items smell like it (or anything else) from activities they may have been involved in before we found them.
