Sweet Antique Rookwood Arts & Crafts Cabinet Vase XXIII 1923 #1825 Matte Mauve

  
The vase is in excellent condition with no chips, no cracks, no crazing and no repairs. There does appear to be some light scuffing on the piece, some small glaze pinholes, light scratching as well as stray marks that look like pencil marks, especially on the glaze inside. But these stray marks are superficial and are not hairline cracks in the pottery wall, so I want to note them only for the sake of accuracy. This vase is 5" tall, 3" wide at the body, and 2 wide at the top rim opening. The base of the pottery is stamped with the Rookwood Pottery flame mark, the shape number 1825 and the production year XXIII (1923). This tapered, cylindrically-shaped vase features a beautiful, arts-and-crafts motif of stylized thistles encircling the vase. This gorgeous glaze is a rosy-pink underglaze with a heavier mauve-colored overdrip that has curdled beautifully on the vase. In some places, it has created a "flame-stitch" effect in the drip which is really interesting. The piece was gently used but is really clean both inside and out. Check out all 9 photos!
