Here is a rare and very early Saturday Evening Girls Paul Revere Pottery bowl decorated with 5 pairs of facing roosters around the outside and the motto "EARLY TO BED & EARLY TO RISE MAKES A CHILD HEALTHY WEALTHY & WISE" in a yellow band on the inside. This classic design is inspired by the book illustrations of Edith Brown and is incised, well drawn, and has good bold color. It is signed with the early S. In a bowl mark, dated 1909, and signed RB in a rectangle for Rose Bacchini.

It measures 5 1/2 inches in diameter and 2 3/8 inches high. This bowl is in overall good condition considering most pieces were intended for use by children, with only 2 fine tight hairlines to the rim and no chips, repairs, or firing flaws.
