SEG Saturday Evening Girls Paul Revere Pottery 1910 dbl duck plate arts & crafts
Here is an excellent and very early Saturday Evening Girls Paul Revere Pottery plate decorated with pairs of white ducks six times around. The design is incised in black against a white ground with a yellow band. A classic design inspired by the book illustrations of Edith Brown. Dated 1910, and initialed IG for decorator Ida Goldstein.
It measures 7 5/8 inches in diameter and and has the thick rim of their earliest work. This plate is in exceptional condition considering most pieces were intended for use by children, with no cracks, repairs, or firing flaws, just a few bubbles and two small flat chips to the foot ring. A beautiful piece of Arts and Crafts New England art pottery.
