ROOKWOOD POTTERY VASE, SHAPE 2439, 1928, MATT BLUE, ARTS/CRAFTS, X'ed PIECE

  

Here's a very pretty piece of ROOKWOOD POTTERY from 1928 and shape #2439. This is a production piece in a light blue matt glaze. It is about 7 tall and has incised band of geometric or triangular elements in a strong arts and crafts style. As can be seen in the 4th photo, this is an X'ed piece indicating a second.

Sometimes it's not so easy to identify the reason for the second designation, but on this piece I suspect it is for the minor roughness all around the base which I'm sure was a factory problem due to the base grinding (photo 5) and also a few burst glaze bubbles which the blue glaze melted into (photo 6).
