Here is a beautiful Rookwood Pottery early jug decorated by Laura Fry. Only at Rookwood for a short time she was one of the decorators of Cincinnati pottery club and proponent of the air brush for shaded backgrounds. It has a spray of Goldenrod flowers and stems with gold lustre highlights against a tan ground. It measures about 4 5/8 inches tall and 3 1/2 inches across the handle. Marked with the all caps die-stamp, 1882, and a conjoined LAF for the artist. It is in great condition with no chips, cracks, firing flaws, or repairs. A nice piece of early Rookwood by an important artist.
