The form is a wall pocket and these are not commonly found. The wall pocket vase measures 9 5/8" tall and is approximately 3 1/2" wide at the top. The wall pocket vase has a very pleasing blue teal background glaze.
The wall pocket has an Arts and Crafts design. It displays long vertical panels that rise up from the bottom and extend all the way to the top border. At the top there are trefoil blossoms separating each panel at the top. These are set just under the top lip that has a thick horizontal band. This wall pocket is considered to be in excellent condition as there are no cracks, nicks, chips or dings.
This vase is extremely clean and I suspect it was rarely used if ever. It looks as good as the day it was made. The vase is signed on the underside bottom with Rookwood's impressed reverse "RP" sunburst logo along with the Roman numerals "XXIII" for the year of manufacture 1923 and form number 2107. This would look outstanding on that Stickley, Mission, Arts and Crafts Style home. No store lets you out of the building with the merchandise unless it is paid for.
