Newcomb College Pottery transitional 8 pine tree landscape vase Arts & Crafts
Here is a beautiful Newcomb College Pottery scenic landscape vase in their signature matte blue green glazes. There are branching pine trees with a distant tree horizon in the background, a transitional period execution and an exceptional design that blends into the body of the cylindrical form vase. It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, repairs, or firing flaws. It is a good size at 8 3/8 inches high and 3 1/2 inches in diameter at the widest point. Marked with the firm's die-stamped NC mark, JM for the potter Joseph Meyer, a conjoined HB for decorator Henrietta Bailey, and date code GY41 for 1915.
A great arts & crafts shape and a fine example of the quintessential southern art pottery.
