Here is a beautiful Newcomb College Pottery vase decorated with repeating overlapping leaves at the shoulder of the low form. Carved by Sadie Irvine and glazed in their matte blue, green, and pinkish glazes with good contrast. It measures 2 1/8 inches tall and 4 3/4 inches in diameter. It is in great condition with no chips, cracks, or repairs, just an in the making stilt mark near the edge of the foot. Marked with the firm's die-stamped NC mark, a conjoined SI.
And date code UI 10 for 1933. A fine example of the quintessential southern Arts & Crafts art pottery.
