Newcomb College Pottery Framed Tile Whimsical Frog Playing The Banjo

  

This Leona Nicholson Newcomb College Pottery framed tile, frog playing the banjo, is 4.5" by 4.5" and the frame is 10.25" by 10.25". Finished in a high-gloss green and blue colored background glaze, the frog is dressed in a vest with tie, and has a banjo across his chest. In factory original condition, there are no chips, cracks, hairlines or repairs. Marked on the back LN (Leona Nicholson), NC (Newcomb College) and HBM. This same tile can be found on page 36 in The Encyclopedia of American Art Tiles, Region 4.
