Here is a beautiful Newcomb College Pottery scenic landscape vase in their signature matte blue green glazed, moon, and moss draped tree design. These are the less commonly seen cypress trees, the knees are shown by the water with a distant tree horizon and the full moon peeking through the moss. It is very well carved with good contrast and deep rich color. It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, repairs, or firing flaws. It is a good size at 8 inches high and 3 3/4 inches in diameter at the widest.

Marked with a partial original paper label, the firm's die-stamped NC mark, JH for the potter Jonathon Hunt, AFS for decorator Anna Francis Simpson, and date code SB49 for 1930. A fine example of the quintessential southern Arts & Crafts art pottery.
