Newcomb College Pottery 1918 AFS narcissus vase Arts & Crafts matte blue green
Here is a beautiful Newcomb College Pottery bulbous vase decorated with swaying flowers partially opened and leaves in their signature matte blue and green glazes with pink blooms. Deeply carved with great contrast and color, and a pleasing shape. It measures 4 3/4 inches tall and 3 3/4 inches in diameter at the widest. It is in great condition with no chips, cracks, or repairs, or firing flaws. Marked with the firm's die-stamped NC mark, a conjoined AFS for artist Anna Frances Simpson, date code MU34 for 1922, and a conjoined JM for potter Joseph Meyer.
A fine example, with great composition, of the quintessential Arts & Crafts southern art pottery.
