The base is also incised with a tiny, rare hand-stamp mark, ROOKWOOD, CINTI, O. " Rookwood would later include this "new mark in their molds in the mid-1950s.
This gorgeous glaze is a high-gloss, chocolate-brown color also known as wine madder. The glaze beautifully accentuates the mold detail. There is no damage to this beautiful vase with only the beginnings of crazing in the glaze from age at the base.
The vase is very clean both inside and out. Check out all 8 photos! This sweet little cabinet piece would be perfect for any Rookwood or American art pottery collector.
