Here is a very nice Merrimac Pottery canted form cabinet vase with a flared rim. Glaze on an unusual form.
Merrimac used a wide variety of glazes, as many as the Grueby or Walley Potteries to whom the work is often compared. The pottery was located in Newburyport Massachusetts and only made art pottery from 1900 to 1908. It measures about 3 inches tall and 3 1/8 inches in diameter at the widest. There are a couple of spots of old repair to the rim which are not. And no other chips, cracks or firing flaws.
A good piece of New England Arts & Crafts era art pottery. The item "Merrimac Pottery matte green feathered glaze canted side vase arts & crafts" is in sale since Wednesday, February 28, 2018.
