Rarely Offered Jemerick Jonquil Art Pottery Vase Crafted in the Style of Grueby Signed 8.5 Inches 1998. Jemerick Pottery Closed around 2014. Their small studio, Jemerick Pottery, was dedicated to continuing the Arts and Crafts movement in the style of original potteries such as Grueby and Teco. Their focus was on capturing the essence of the Arts and Crafts movement by creating pieces that lovingly interpret the original makers as well as reflecting their personal styles and skills.
All Jemerick pottery was hand-thrown on the wheel by Steve and then individually designed and sculpted by either Steve or Cherie before being fired to 2200 degrees in an electric kiln. This vintage piece is in very good condition; no chips, cracks, damage or repairs. Hand crafted in a lovely mottled matte green finish, the vase is decorated in relief with white and yellow long stemmed jonquil flowers and leaves on 2 sides, front and back.
It is incised on the bottom with the cipher "sf" for Steve Frederick. There is something, likely just a line, on the flower in photos 6, 8 and 9. It does not appear to be a hairline crack. It's disclosed for you to see and decide for yourself.
Before listing the piece and then again on 10/13/22 at the request of a viewer I ran my fingernail over the line and it did not "catch" as it would for a hairline crack. Did it with eyes open and then again with eyes closed. It may be nothing and original to the making. It in no way detracts from the utility or the beauty and grace of the piece. Approximate Dimensions: 8.25"H x 5.25"W x 2" at Top Opening x 3.5" across the Base. Photos are provided as an integral partof the product description.
