Impressive Camark Art Pottery Matte Rose Green Overflow Vase Arts & Crafts #132

  

This handsome vase is in excellent condition with no chips, no cracks, light crazing and no repairs. There is a barely-there grinding nick just at the base rim edge as well as a glaze pop on the inside of the vase. This pottery is marked with the impressed "CAMARK" stamp and still retains a partial Camark sticker / paper label on its side which dates it to the late 1920's or early 1930's. Collector's Guide to Camark Pottery. Gifford as shape number 132. The glaze line is called Rose Green Overflow with a matte rose underglaze and a blue-green overdrip. With this earlier example, the glazes have been magnificently applied resulting in many drips and an unusually textured finish.

This piece is 6" tall, about 4-1/2" wide at the shoulder, and almost 2-1/2 wide at the mouth. It has an ovoid shape with a collared or lipped rim.

The grinding on the base of this piece to make it flat has left the vase with just a very slight tilt. The piece is very clean but believed to have been gently used. Check out all 11 photos!
