The vase is in excellent condition with no chips, no cracks, no crazing and no repairs. There are, however, tiny glaze flakes and fleabites just at the base rim edge, most likely from the grinding process.
This piece is 3-3/4" tall, 4" wide at the shoulder, and almost 2-1/2 wide at the top rim opening. The base of the pottery is stamped with the Rookwood Pottery flame mark, the shape number 6432 and the production year XLII (1942). The vase features a decorative arts-and-crafts design with stems of African violets encircling the piece. This gorgeous glaze is a matte ocean-green with a blue-green overdrip that contains crystals.
There are tiny glaze pinholes and also areas of very-light stray marks on the piece. This glaze color is exceptionally rich and really accentuates the mold detail. The vase is presumed to have been gently used; however, the vase is very clean both inside and out.Stilt marks are barely visible on the base. Check out all 10 photos! This gorgeous vase would look amazing in your favorite display cabinet. It would also be perfect for any Rookwood or American art pottery collector.
