This piece has a beautiful, arts-and-crafts leaves-and-berries motif encircling the bowl. The bowl is in excellent, near-mint condition with no chips, no cracks, no crazing and no repairs. The piece is 2" tall, 4-1/2" wide at the shoulder, and 3-1/2 wide at the top rim. The base of the pottery is stamped with the Rookwood Pottery flame mark, the shape number 2099 and the production year XXI (1921).
This gorgeous underglaze is a matte, dusty rose with a green overspray that has curdled beautifully on the top rim and inside the bowl. Glaze drips are visible on the exterior. The bowl is very clean both inside and out, and has miniscule stray marks from gentle use. Check out all 9 photos!
This handsome little cabinet piece would be perfect for any Rookwood or American art pottery collector. Check out my other pottery listings! Please let me know if you have questions.
