A stunning, hand built ceramic Fulper pitcher. Helmet shape with twisted braid handle with teal green matte flambe glaze. Fulper, one of the premier American Art Pottery firms of the early 1900s, was based in Flemington, NJ. Purportedly the oldest pottery in America, the company manufactured red earthenware and salt glazed stoneware in the early 19th century, circa 1805. Known as an Arts and Crafts movement leader, Fulper used locally sourced clay and glazes.
