Eatured in this listing is a vintage flower vase made by the Brush-McCoy Pottery Co. The bulbous vase has a collared rim and two delicately-shaped handles. This piece is unmarked but has been identified as Brush-McCoy, shape #717, from the "Fawn" series.
This beautiful vase was probably made in the 1920s or 1930s. It is in excellent condition with no cracks, light crazing and no repairs. There are, however, several tiny nicks around the top rim edge of the piece which, for the most part, could be glaze fleabites or glaze flakes. Inside, there are air bubbles trapped under the glaze as well as a glaze miss at/inside the bottom. This high-gloss finish is Brush-McCoy's "Onyx" glaze line. The vase is finished with a spectacular blend of glossy black, white, blue and brown glazes which characterize glaze colors featured in the Onyx line. Apologies for the light reflections in the photos.
It is 6" tall and almost 6-1/2" wide at the handles. Check out all 11 photos! Although not perfect, this piece would make a beautiful addition to any American art pottery or Brush-McCoy Pottery collection.
