Throughout the history of the Fulper Pottery company, the firm has been known to produce amazing work of art utilizing innovative glazes developed by their staff. Many of the shapes were simple but the glazes applied enhanced their desirability tremendously.

The company used assorted marks which can identify the approximate age of each example. This stout example has a beautiful two tone mauve blended drip glaze covering the outside surface. The thickness of this glaze can clearly be seen on the bottom which had to be factory ground during the production process. The rectangle mark on the bottom indicates the range of production between the years 1917 through 1934. My inclination due to the glaze and style that this example came to market during the early years of this time span.

The vase stands 9 1/2" tall and measures 5 1/2" diameter through the broadest region of the body. Quite heavy, it measures 4 pounds prior to packing. After thorough examination and cleaning, I can find no significant damage or repairs. I will mention several points all due to the manufacturing process. I have included a picture of several popped bubbles in the glaze as well as minor flaking on the bottom rim in the glaze due to the finishing process after firing.

Glaze dripped during the final kiln fire which required grinding to level the object. Also during production a vertical line, possibly. Seam in the clay is visible on the outside. All these points do not detract from the quality of this item. Please view all pictures as they are considered part of the description.

Please check back to my listings often as I will be posting numerous fine examples of glass, pottery and porcelain in the near future.
