The vase is in excellent condition with no chips, no cracks, no crazing and no repairs. There are, however, tiny glaze pinholes and fleabites in the glaze along with stray marks from gentle use. This piece is 6-1/4" tall, 3" wide at the base, and 1 wide at the mouth. The base of the pottery is stamped with the Rookwood Pottery flame mark, the shape number 1904 and the production year XX (1920). The base was ground flat and stilt marks are visible.
The vase features a taller, tapered cylindrical form with an arts-and-crafts motif of peacock feathers encircling the shoulder. This gorgeous glaze is a matte, pale-blue underglaze with a spectacular, darker-blue overdrip that serves to create the illusion of "stems" for the feathers and a stunning ombre effect. The glaze is slightly thinner at the top rim. The vase appears to have some light mineral staining inside but is otherwise relatively clean.
