Decorated Marblehead Art Pottery Vase Arts & Crafts 6 Incised Trees 4 Colors

  
This is a fine piece of four color Arts & Crafts Marblehead Pottery from about 1910. It is 6 3/16" tall, 5 1/8" wide, the mouth is 3 3/8 across the lip.

And H T for Hennessey and Tutt. It is in very good condition, but has a 1.5 mm wide glaze chip on the outside of the lip, shown in the 9th photo. The rest of the vase is perfect. The background glaze is a mottled Mustard Sandstone with light chocolate Tree trunks flowing up to leaves. With light blue fruit hanging down on either side of a chocolate center pendant.

It is well decorated by Hannah Tutt with Tree forms, leaves and fruit, that repeats 8 times around the vase. A wonderful design, in the Mission style, with a finely mottled glaze over the whole surface. The designer was Arthur Hennesy.
