Christopher Dresser large Arts and Crafts Japanesque Pitcher or Jug. A superb large size stylish ceramic bulbous pitcher or jug by Dr. Christopher Dresser with geometric stylised handle in the Japanese style made by the short lived company of Samuel Lear. The bulbous main body is wonderfully glazed in rich deep cobalt blue tones over a beige background and is very well potted, the design set off with a striking Japenesque style square section geometric handle. Condition: In excellent original condition with a glaze miss to the foot rim where glaze pooling has adhered to the kiln floor during manufacture and a tiny nick to spout rim mentioned for complete accuracy, importantly there are no cracks.
