Bernard Moore Large Arts and Crafts Galleon Ginger Jar Flambe Pottery

  
This is a quite spectacular Bernard Moore flambe glazed ginger jar and cover decorated with a repeating galleon in sail. This is a very Arts and Crafts motif. This piece is fully marked to the base and displays well.

One side is fired better (lighter) than the other, which is quite dark. This often happens with Bernard Moore.

It is in quite good condition - there are a few surface scratches. The lid also appears to have been glazed or glued on, I cannot work out which. But I cannot remove it easily, have not tried because I don't want to risk damaging it. Maybe a solvent could be used, but I'm not chemist so will leave as is, as it still displays well.
