Arts & Crafts or Art Deco Art Pottery Turtles Sculpture. A real work of art. It's a shame that it is unsigned. Because my research has come up empty, all I can do is guess here. Because of the style, which could work well in any arts and crafts or art deco environment, I believe that the piece could date to something as early as 1920 or so.

It could also have been made much more recently, but I wouldn't guess that it is anywhere near "new". One of the pottery capitals of the world. But again, this is simply an educated guess. If it turned out to be French or Italian, etc, I wouldn't be completely surprised. The piece appears to be completely hand built, with tool marks to the surface and fingerprints left in the clay underneath. There is an unfortunate hairline crack running about one inch up through the base. I attempted to get a photo of it (see last pic), but it's tough to see. There are no other issues.

It's a great old piece and it's going into my personal collection until it sells. I'm open to offers, but I won't likely jump on any lowballs.
