The glaze is especially superb, with a gloppy yellow color highlighted by turquoise (notice the turquoise bands around the rim) and my favorite part, the dark gray pepper like random spots on the piece. I'm not sure what look he was going for, but it's a GREAT piece of pottery!!! Beautiful and intriguing to hold. No scratches, chips, cracks, or repairs of any type.
There is crazing visible, commensurate with its age and glossy glaze. The bowl measures exactly five inches in diameter and is signed "AEB 1931" in Baggs' customary circle not unlike Marblehead. Fantastic piece to come to market by a pottery artist who studied under Charles Binns. Courtesy of Style 1900 magazine. Thank you for your interest!
