For sale today we have this beautiful and rare Compton pottery plaque of St George and the Dragon. The plaque is cast in relief to a design by Mary Seton Watts with a fully armoured St George with long sword and jousting shield atop a vanquished Dragon. Tempera glazed to Watt's preferred muted palette of golden browns, greens and blues. Bears a Compton Potters Art Guild wheel mark to the rear along with it's original hanging ring.
