VAN BRIGGLE 6 ARTS & CRAFTS URN W/LEAVES 1920s USA IN PERSIAN ROSE GLAZE MINT. This Van Briggle urn stands 3.5" high by 6" in diameter.
It has a classic Arts & Crafts form. There are embossed stylized leaves, overlapping and covering this urn, which is a design from 1911, by Anne Gregory Van Briggle, shape number 858. It is glazed in Van Briggle's signature deep Persian Rose glaze, which is a rich, deep berry color, blushed with a deep purplish-blue over the leaves, a very nice glaze combination! The definition on this vessel is really superb. This urn is well marked on its base with the cojoined AAs, and it bears the name'Van Briggle', U.
Dating it to the early 1920s, according to Scott Nelson's Van Briggle reference book. It is in factory mint condition, with a slight bulge in the belly, as can be seen in the photos. This urn is a very handsome example of early 1920s Van Briggle Pottery, you will not be disappointed!
