Scarce MERRIMAC Pottery VASE Arts & Crafts FACTORY MINT Circa 1902-1908 (Grueby)

  
For your consideration, a very uncommon Arts & Crafts period MERRIMAC POTTERY VASE, Newburyport, MA. Only in business from 1902 until a factory fire took them out in 1908, Merrimac is hard to find. Most Merrimac is rather crude.... This hand-thrown piece has an exceptionally smooth, satin like, matte green speckled glaze like Marblehead pottery. It's superbly thrown, a great shape, especially with the flared rim at top.

When you hold it up in bright light, the glaze has a metallic sparkle to it. Condition is absolutely 100% MINT, LIKE FACTORY NEW.

No scratches, no chips, no restorations, no cracks, no apologies, this example has obviously been pampered its entire lifetime. Measures 3 5/8 inches tall by 3 5/8 inches in diameter at the rim. Clearly marked with the Merrimac name and signature sturgeon fish logo. Superb example from a rare New England Arts & Crafts maker, you will be impressed! Thank you for your interest.
