Here is a nice Rookwood Pottery vellum vase decorated by Margaret Helen McDonald. It has an art nouveau stylized floral design in purple black and tan against a sky blue background. The swelling cylindrical form measures 6 7/8 inches tall and 3 1/4 inches in diameter at the widest.

Marked with the RP die-stamp, XVII for 1917, shape # 551, V for vellum and a con-joined MHM for the artist. There is a short tight line and a small glaze flake at the rim, but no firing flaws, or repairs, and only moderate crazing. A good piece of arts & crafts, art nouveau Rookwood vellum.
