Here is a very nice Rookwood Pottery scenic landscape un-crazed matte finish vellum vase decorated by Edward Timothy Hurley. White birch trees are grouped on the shore of a pond in a blue, green, brown, and gray scene with blue sky and distant horizon. It measures 5 3/8 inches tall and 3 5/16 inches in diameter at the widest. Marked with the RP die-stamp, XL for 1940, shape number 6730, V for vellum under the rp mark, and ETH for the artist. It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, firing flaws or repairs, and NO crazing. A beautiful example of arts & crafts Rookwood vellum.
