OZARK POTTERY ORGANIC MATTE GREEN GLAZE Squat Vase Arts And Crafts Era. Very rare, authentic Ozark pottery, squat style with neck in matt green glaze, moulded design, running from neck down the side. The pottery was started by Robert Bringhurst (who is known for sculpture) in 1906 and ended by 1911.

This is the period when Frederick Rhead, Taxile Doat, and Adelaide Robineau were at Edward Lewis's University City Pottery in Saint Louis Missouri. Size approx 5.25" tall, approx 2.75" diameter at base, 3.5 diameter at the top. Condition is very good with no chips or cracks, age and patina as expected. A small pop in the vase, original to the firing.

From the same era as Grueby, Van Briggle, Teco, Rockwood, Fulper and Roseville. Some darkened areas and variation in the glaze, may have picked up some staining over the years, or could also may be original to the piece. Signed and incised Ozark on the base.
