Newcomb College Pottery oak & moss day scenic landscape vase Arts & Crafts
Here is a beautiful Newcomb College Pottery scenic landscape cabinet vase in their signature matte blue green glazes. The day scene sky is tinted pink behind the moss laden branching oak trees with a distant horizon in the background. Well carved with excellent detail, contrast, and color. It is in great condition with no chips, cracks, repairs, or firing flaws.
It measures 3 3/4 inches high and 3 3/4 inches in diameter at the widest point. Marked with the firm's die-stamped NC mark, a conjoined AFS for decorator Anna Francis Simpson, JM for potter Joseph Meyer, and date code KV81 for 1920. A fine example of the quintessential southern art pottery.
