Here is a beautiful Newcomb College Pottery three broad leaf floral vase in their signature matte blue and green glazes. There are white flowers, probably iris' between the leaves and a little yellow near the rim. A Grueby type corset form typical of Chalaron which integrates the form and decoration. It is well carved with good contrast and good color. It measures 6 5/8 inches tall and about 3 1/4 inches in diameter at the lip.It is in great condition with no chips, cracks, or repairs, just a tiny glaze miss in the flowers which does not detract. Marked with the firm's die-stamped NC mark, a conjoined CC for artist Corrine Chalaron, date code PH77 for 192c, and a conjoined JM for potter Joseph Meyer. A very nice example of the quintessential Arts & Crafts southern art pottery.
