Newcomb College Pottery 1918 Iris vase Arts & Crafts matte blue green white 8.75
Here is a beautiful Newcomb College Pottery tall iris decorated bulbous bottom corset vase in their signature matte blue and green glazes with white flowers. It is very well carved from top to bottom with good contrast and color, and a great shape.
It measures 8 3/4 inches tall and 3 1/2 inches in diameter at the widest. It is in great condition with no chips, cracks, or repairs, or firing flaws.
Marked with the firm's die-stamped NC mark, a conjoined AFS for artist Anna Frances Simpson, date code JU 46 for 1918, and a conjoined JM for potter Joseph Meyer. An exceptionally nice example of the quintessential Arts & Crafts southern art pottery.
