Here is an exceptional and large Grueby Pottery two color leaf and bud vase in ochre yellow with 7 well tooled leaves, vertical stems, and white buds at the rim of this hand thrown ovoid form. A great alternative to their famous matte green glaze. It is in good condition with only a tight firing line (I think this occurred in the firing and not from after manufacture damage) at the rim which lines up with a leaf center rib on the outside so it's not that noticeable, the typical tiny nicks to leaf edges, and no other cracks, chips, or repairs.

Marked under the bottom glaze with the earlier Grueby Faience Boston USA die-stamp and an N in circle for decorator Lillian Newman. It measures 11 inches tall and 5 3/4 inches in diameter at the widest. An excellent example of the quintessential Arts & Crafts New England art pottery.
