Frankoma Frank Potteries 1930's Arts & Crafts Art Pottery Vase Beautiful & Rare

  

For sale is a beautiful and early vase from the kilns of John Frank during his tenure at the University of Oklahoma and dating to the 1930's. This vase would make an important and cherished addition to any advanced collection of Frankoma Pottery or be a remarkable start to a new collection.

The glaze is simply amazing in its depth and variations and is beautiful in the way that it highlights the contours of the molded design. The base is ink-stamped "Frank Potteries" and "Norman, Oklahoma" as shown in the pictures. There is a bottom clay separation from drying shrinkage visible in the pictures that does not detract from this rare vase in any way. Advanced collectors will know much more about this vase than I can offer here so I will let the pictures do the talking.
