ARTS & CRAFTS STYLE MATTE GREEN LIFE SIZE POTTERY DETAILED HUMAN SKULL. This is a gorgeous very detailed pottery skull. It blends the gap between medical curiosities and pottery.
It would great under a glass dome. This is a life size piece.
Made slightly smaller than a full grown adult. 5 5/8" tall by 4 3/4 across by 6 1/4" deep. It is a hollow molded piece of pottery with some impressed markings but unreadable on the bottom. It is covered in a stunning arts & crafts mottled matte green glaze. Photo lights make it look a little lighter and darker in color than what it is. Great displayed in a library, conservatory or in many other settings to invoke conversation. Exemplary to a rookwood glaze or similar American art pottery companies of that time period. No damage, no cracks, no chips (may have a very tiny nose edge flea bite-see last photo) and no repairs. You can see what looks like file marks on the bottom of the gum line through the glaze (some color missing on small areas on bottom and top edge of nose top, see photo- this is the one you will receive) BASES ARE NOT INCLUDED.The 12 Westcott Wooden ruler being used, is for size comparison of items listed and is not for sale and not included with the item.
