For sale today we have this superb "St Francis of Assisi" pottery plaque by the Compton Potters' Art Guild. A gorgeous piece of Arts & Crafts pottery to a design by Mary Seton Watts. Features St Francis with a bird in his hand in a woodland setting- his halo nicely highlighted with gold gilt. Measures 7 1/2 " x 4 3/4 ". Bears an impressed Compton stamp to the rear along with remnants of it's original paper care label and hanging hook. In excellent condition, no chips, cracks or repairs, some signs of wear to the tempera glaze. A fine addition to any Compton/ Art Pottery collection.
